Description
Dometic SeaStar CH7810NT-BE Single Control Head Kit - Black Edition
The Dometic CH7810NT-BE is a single top mount electronic control head for SeaStar i7700/i7800 electronic shift and throttle systems. The NT version is the no trim model, ideal when trim is handled by a separate dash switch, engine trim switch, or an independent trim panel.
SeaStar i7700/i7800 systems are designed to replace stiff, cable driven mechanical controls with smooth electronic control while still using traditional mechanical shift and throttle cables at the actuators. This is a popular upgrade for boats that want modern control feel without changing engines.

Key Benefits of the CH7810NT-BE Control Head
- Black Edition finish for clean, modern helm styling.
- Single lever top mount control for precise shift and throttle operation on i7700/i7800 systems.
- Ideal for no trim installations - choose NT when you do not want trim built into the handle.
- Multi station capable - i7700/i7800 systems can support up to three control heads per vessel (system dependent).
- Designed for mechanically controlled engines when paired with the correct SeaStar actuator and rigging.
What Is Included in the CH7810NT-BE Kit
| Component | Part No. | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Single top mount control head (no trim) | CH7810NT-BE | Single lever control head in Black Edition finish for SeaStar i7700/i7800 electronic shift and throttle systems. |
| Mounting hardware and documentation | Included | Mounting fasteners, gasket or seal, and basic documentation (contents can vary by packaging revision). |
Important: This is a control head kit only. A complete i7700/i7800 system also requires actuators, CAN network components, control cables, and configuration using the proper setup tool.
Commonly Required Items for a Complete i7700/i7800 System (Sold Separately)
| Item | Part No. | Notes |

Recommended Applications and Limits
| Configuration | Engine type | Boat type | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single engine, single station | Mechanical shift and mechanical throttle | Outboard, inboard, sterndrive and commercial applications | Primary use case for CH7810NT-BE. Trim handled separately. |
| Multi station | Mechanical shift and mechanical throttle | Pilothouse, flybridge, dual helm layouts | System supports up to three control heads total (system dependent). |
Installation Tips
- Verify your system type and station plan before ordering - single vs twin engine and number of stations changes required components.
- Plan CAN routing to avoid tight bends and chafe points, and keep connections accessible for future service.
- Configuration requires the correct SeaStar setup tool. If you do not already have one, plan for installation through an authorized installer.
- After installation, verify neutral safety operation, forward and reverse engagement, and throttle response at the dock before sea trial.
Maintenance Guidelines
- Keep the control head clean and dry and avoid harsh chemicals on the Black Edition finish.
- Inspect helm fasteners and harness connections periodically, especially in saltwater environments.
- If you notice abnormal lever feel or control behavior, stop and inspect the system before operating at speed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does NT mean?
NT is the no trim version. Trim is not built into the control head handle.
Can I add trim control if I need it?
Yes. Many boats use a separate trim switch on the dash. Some i7700/i7800 setups also use independent trim switching accessories when available.
Is this for twin engines?
CH7810NT-BE is a single control head. Twin engine setups typically use a dual control head (two levers) or a system designed for synchronized single lever operation depending on the configuration. If you tell us your engine count and stations, we can help confirm the correct control head.
Do I need a setup tool?
Yes. i7700/i7800 systems require configuration with the proper setup tool as part of installation.
