The Sleipner Side-Power SE60 Thruster Kit combines a Sleipner SE60 electric tunnel thruster with your selected helm control, signal cables, bow tunnel and main switch arrangement. Use the selector to see the component list for your installation.
The SE60 delivers port and starboard thrust for low-speed maneuvering. Its single five-blade Q-Prop, sealed gearleg, thermal protection and Intelligent Power Control are designed for dependable on/off operation.
Sleipner commonly positions the SE60 for boats around 29–38 feet. Boat length is only a starting point: windage, displacement, bow depth and required control in wind determine whether it is the right size.
Apply thrust in short bursts when docking. Choose a joystick or touchpanel to suit the helm.
Choose a manual battery switch or add a helm-operated automatic main switch with an integrated fuse holder.
Select tunnel stock length and routed signal-cable lengths without changing the SE60 thruster’s output rating.
It includes the components in your selected parts list. The battery bank, high-current battery cables, lugs, charging equipment, hull preparation, fiberglass materials, installation labor and any other boat-specific hardware are separate. The automatic switch also needs its fused control-power connection installed according to its manual.
No. The options change installation fit and operation. Actual thrust also depends on voltage at the motor under load and the quality of the tunnel installation. Choose a larger thruster if the boat requires more thrust.
This configuration is for a standard bow tunnel installation. It does not include a stern tunnel or an ignition-protected motor enclosure. A stern installation or a space with possible gasoline vapors needs a separately specified package.
Side-Power thrusters are made by Sleipner. Both names appear on product labels, documentation and replacement parts, so use the model, voltage and serial number when matching components.

The SE60 thruster assembly includes its motor, gearleg and propeller. Spare propellers and anodes in the accessories tab are optional service items, not extra items automatically added to the kit.

PLAN THE INSTALLATION
The stock GRP options have a 185 mm bore and 4 mm wall. Your installer selects the stock length and trims it to the hull. Tunnel position, submergence and opening shape affect performance.
A metal hull needs a suitable metal tunnel and the manufacturer’s isolation arrangement. Those parts require a separate configuration.
Allow for the motor, cable connections, ventilation and service access. The SE60 supports angled mounting, but positioning and any motor support must follow the installation drawing.
Use the current dimensions in the linked manual; do not size the compartment from a product photograph.
Select conductor size from the manual using the total positive-plus-negative cable run. Keep voltage drop low and install the specified fuse and accessible main switch.
Signal-cable lengths in the selector do not determine the battery-cable size.
Manual configuration: a 4-wire cable connects the helm panel to the thruster. Automatic configuration: a 5-wire cable runs from the panel to the automatic switch, with a separate 4-wire cable to the thruster.
The automatic switch requires a protected control-power feed. Follow its wiring diagram for the 5A fuse and connections.
The selected SE60 is a standard on/off model. A different panel alone will not make it proportional or add a hold function. Installations requiring those features, or ignition protection, need the corresponding thruster system and controls.

MANUFACTURER DOCUMENTATION
Inspect the propeller and anode, remove marine growth and check electrical connections as directed in the operator’s manual. Use the manual’s antifouling instructions and keep the anode free of paint.
Sleipner’s published warranty is two years for leisure use or one year for commercial and other non-leisure use, subject to its full terms and exclusions. Keep the purchase record and thruster serial number with the vessel’s service documents.
