Make fresh water aboard with the Spectra Catalina 340CS Compact Connect (CT-340cS). This complete marine reverse-osmosis watermaker is rated for 14 US gallons (53 liters) per hour. It includes touchscreen controls and automatic freshwater flushing.

Why choose this model?

• Use shorter membrane vessels. Two 20-inch membranes offer another layout option where a longer vessel is difficult to fit.
• Plan your running time. At the rated output, three hours makes about 42 US gallons before startup and freshwater-flush allowances.
• Set a production target. Run by time or water volume. Fill Tank mode uses the installed tank-full switch to stop production.

Actual output depends on seawater conditions and installation. Check module dimensions and leave room for servicing.

What you'll need for installation

• Seawater intake through-hull with a suitable scoop/strainer and seacock, plus a brine-discharge fitting.
• Power cable and circuit protection sized for the chosen voltage and cable run.
• Connections to a properly vented freshwater tank and a pressurized freshwater source for flushing.
• Accessible mounting space and any extra hose, tubing, fittings, or mounting hardware your boat needs.

Options and spares

• ZION-AUTO membrane-preservation system — match the kit to your controller, voltage, and flush setup. Follow its instructions for extended flush intervals and storage.
• KIT-SC-TNKSS tank-level sensor kit — adds tank-level information. Separate from the tank-full switch.
• Extra Connect display or Wi-Fi module — request the matching display, cable, and network hardware.
• Replacement 5-micron prefilters, and the charcoal freshwater-flush filter.
• SC-1 storage compound — use when the manual’s storage procedure calls for it. For freezing weather, follow the separate winterizing instructions.

Buying questions

Does compact mean one enclosed unit?

The Catalina 340CS Compact Connect still uses separate modules. Check their dimensions and leave space to replace membranes and service the equipment.

Which voltage should I order?

Order the factory version that matches your 12V, 24V, or 48V DC supply. The voltage options are separate factory configurations. Include your voltage and cable run in the quote request.

Size the battery bank, charging system, wiring, and protection for the load. Solar or wind charging must cover the boat’s total energy use.

Can I use a phone or chartplotter?

A phone, tablet, or computer can access Spectra Connect on the same properly configured onboard network.

Compatible Garmin, Raymarine, and Navico/Simrad chartplotters need the specified Ethernet connection, supported display software, Connect firmware v3.1 or later, and any required adapter. Check the integration guide before ordering.

The onboard connection alone does not provide access from shore.

Operation and care

Automatic flushing needs DC control power, pressurized freshwater, and enough water in the tank. Keep these available for automatic storage flushing. Follow the manual for longer storage.

• Check for leaks and hose chafe, and clean the seawater strainer.
• Replace prefilters as needed. Maintain the carbon filter that protects the membrane during freshwater flushing.
• Follow the manual when chemical cleaning is needed. Low voltage, restricted feed water, and poor storage also need to be addressed.

Specifications

Daily capacity is a rounded rating for continuous operation. Plan around your actual running hours and allow for flushing. Use the installation manual to size wiring and circuit protection.
